AI CRM in the UAE: What It Does, and What Actually Calls the Lead

Quick answer

Most products marketed as an AI CRM add features on top of a CRM: call summaries, lead scoring, drafted replies. A person still has to make the call. MAJ Leads' AI Mode is different: the AI itself places the call within about thirty seconds of a lead arriving, qualifies it, books into the calendar, confirms on WhatsApp, and hands off to a human when a lead needs one. It currently runs in English only.

What does 'AI CRM' usually mean in practice?

Search for AI CRM in the UAE and most results are large, established CRMs describing an AI layer added to their existing product: a feature that summarises a call after it happened, scores a lead based on past behaviour, drafts a follow-up email, or suggests the next best action to a sales rep. All of these are useful. None of them make the phone ring.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A lead scoring model can tell a rep which lead to call first. It cannot make the call happen within thirty seconds of that lead arriving at 11pm on a Thursday. A summarisation feature can write a clean note after a call ends. It cannot place the call in the first place. Most "AI CRM" functionality sits after the human action, not instead of it.

So what actually calls the lead?

In MAJ Leads, that is what AI Mode is specifically for. It is one of two modes a workspace can run, alongside Team Mode where a human team runs the same cadence with the system's help. When AI Mode is switched on for a client, MAJ Leads' voice agent is wired directly into the same cadence engine that drives the rest of the product: the moment a lead arrives, whether from a website form, a Meta lead ad, a Google Ads lead form, or a CSV import, the AI places the first call attempt, targeting inside thirty seconds and always inside the 09:00 to 18:00 GST calling window that applies to every marketing call in the UAE.

Every call the AI makes opens with the same disclosure, in every case, with no exceptions: "Just so you know, this call will be recorded for quality and training purposes." This is a hard rule at MAJ Leads, not a configurable script line.

What does the AI actually do once someone picks up?

It runs the qualification conversation the business would otherwise assign to a person: asking the questions that matter for that business, budget, timeline, area, whatever the workspace is configured to ask, and listening for the answers rather than following a rigid script regardless of what the lead says. If the lead qualifies and the conversation reaches a natural booking point, the AI offers a slot from the client's live calendar availability and books it directly, then sends a WhatsApp confirmation to the lead and a summary to the client's team.

  1. The lead arrives and the AI calls within roughly thirty seconds, inside the calling window.
  2. The AI discloses the recording, then runs the qualification conversation.
  3. A qualified lead is booked directly into the calendar, with a WhatsApp confirmation to the lead.
  4. The client's team receives a WhatsApp summary of the booking.
  5. The call transcript, recording and an outcome classification are attached to the lead record.

What happens if the lead does not pick up?

AI Mode does not stop trying after one attempt. A lead that does not answer moves through the same RNR 1-5 cadence covered in Speed to Lead in the UAE: The Thirty-Second Standard, now, fifteen minutes, one hour, four hours, and the next working day at noon, with the AI attempting each call. If the final attempt still goes unanswered, the lead is marked not reached and receives a WhatsApp message letting them know MAJ Leads tried to reach them. A reply from the lead at any point reopens the cadence from the first attempt.

Why is AI Mode switched on per client rather than for everyone by default?

Auto-calling a real lead is not something to switch on lightly. AI Mode sits behind a feature flag that stays off until it has been verified as reliable for that specific workspace, its scripts, its calendar integration, its WhatsApp templates, rather than assuming a configuration that works for one client will behave identically for another. A brokerage and a dental clinic ask very different qualifying questions, and getting that wrong on a live call is a worse outcome than taking longer to turn the flag on.

What happens when a lead needs a person, not the AI?

Not every conversation should end with the AI. When a lead's outcome is marked needs human, whether the question goes beyond what the AI is configured to answer or the lead specifically asks for a person, that lead is routed into the client's team as a normal task, the same due-now queue and safety-net rules that apply in Team Mode apply here too, with the same ten-minute and twenty-minute escalation if nobody picks it up. If the client has no team configured, it goes to the client's admin instead. The client also receives a WhatsApp alert with a summary and a link to the transcript, so the handoff carries context rather than starting the human conversation from zero.

Does the AI remember a caller it has spoken to before?

Yes. When a known number calls in, or is called again as part of a later attempt, the AI uses caller memory from prior calls in how it opens the conversation, rather than starting cold every time. This is separate from the call recording itself, transcripts and recordings are always retained against the lead record for review, and every recording carries the disclosure stated at the start of the call.

What happens to the call after it ends?

Every AI Mode call ends with a transcript, the recording itself, and an outcome classification attached to the lead record, alongside whichever of the standard outcomes applies: qualified, needs human, not interested, no pickup, or callback requested. A manager reviewing a lead does not have to relisten to a recording to know what happened, the transcript and outcome are there against the lead the moment the call ends, and the recording remains available for quality review or a compliance check.

What are the current limits of AI Mode, honestly?

AI Mode currently runs in English only. It is also a feature that stays behind a flag on a client-by-client basis until it has been verified as reliable for that workspace, rather than switched on for every client by default. Outbound cold calling to lists that were not generated by the client's own lead sources, and a native mobile app for reps, are both out of scope for this version of the product. None of this changes what AI Mode already does well for inbound, source-generated leads: calling fast, qualifying honestly, and knowing when to hand off.

How does a business choose between AI Mode and Team Mode?

It is not an either-or decision at the account level, it is a toggle an admin controls, and the two can complement each other, Team Mode for a business's core hours, AI Mode covering after-hours and overflow so no lead sits waiting for the next morning. See AI Mode for the full detail, compare it against Team Mode, and see how the same cadence underpins both on the lead management system page. Pricing, Team Mode starts from AED 299 per month, is on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Is an AI CRM the same thing as an AI voice agent?
No. Most products marketed as an AI CRM add features like summarisation, scoring or drafted replies to an existing CRM, and a person still makes the call. MAJ Leads' AI Mode is an AI voice agent wired into the lead cadence itself, so the AI places the call.
What languages does AI Mode support?
AI Mode currently runs in English only in this version of the product.
Does the AI tell a caller they are speaking to an AI, or that the call is recorded?
Every call opens with the same disclosure, in every case: "Just so you know, this call will be recorded for quality and training purposes." This is a fixed rule, not a configurable line.
What happens if the AI cannot handle what a lead is asking?
The lead is marked needs human and routed to the client's team as a task, with the same escalation rules that apply in Team Mode, or to the client's admin if no team is configured. The client also receives a WhatsApp alert with a transcript link.
